United Methodist Candidacy Process

The United Methodist Candidacy Process is an important and exciting journey as you begin your ministry.

The journey into ministry is filled with challenges, rewards, and important decisions. One decision you may face is that of choosing a seminary. Let me share with you a little about one choice, Saint Paul School of Theology.

The movement begun by John Wesley and other reformers has led millions to Christ and has sparked the fire of social renewal. Clearly, John Wesley was not only a person of faith and passion, but also one of reason and intellect. At Saint Paul, we expect a similar integration-between the spiritual and the scholarly-in both our students and our faculty. That's why we've created a unique curriculum, one that throughout weaves together theory and practice.

Our students represent all ages, and come from 38 annual conferences, 35 states, and 20 other denominations. Our faculty are scholars and spiritual leaders of the first rank. Under their careful mentorship, Saint Paul students prepare for positions of leadership that will revitalize the church.

Saint Paul School of Theology is one of thirteen United Methodist seminaries. We are located in Kansas City, Missouri, and committed to educating leaders for the church. Currently, over 85% of our graduates are serving in the parish-the highest number of any of the United Methodist Seminaries.
