Saint Paul seeks to provide an educational community in which each student:
- studies rigorously to understand and appropriate more clearly the Christian heritage-scriptural, historical, and contemporary-in a way that is functional for ministry;
- gains understanding of the nature of persons and the social institutions in which they live and how to relate the resources of ministry to them, with sensitivity to peoples and cultures other than the student's own;
- attains understanding of the total life and ministry of the church and develops a style and the skills necessary for effective ministry in a variety of circumstances;
- develops as a person and as a minister, growing in maturity, personal faith, commitment to ministry, and dedication to continuing study and preparation for that ministry.
