Seminary Receives Official Notification
2/12/2013 8:00:00 AM

Saint Paul School of Theology has received notifications from the Association of Theological Schools and the Higher Learning Commission that the change of location from 5123 Truman Rd, Kansas City, MO to 13720 Roe Ave, Leawood, KS has been approved. The announcement forms a groundbreaking educational collaboration.

Saint Paul School of Theology will move forward in an educational collaboration with the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection. The goal of the venture is to intentionally model a theological education experience that combines classroom instruction of the highest caliber with the practical wisdom of vibrant church ministry.

Saint Paul School of Theology intends to begin teaching classes at the Church of the Resurrection in the fall of 2013. Resurrection will provide the seminary with classrooms, worship space in the Wesley Covenant Chapel, a library space, and common areas for various gatherings. The seminary's faculty, staff, and administrative offices will be located in the proximity of the Church of the Resurrection campus.

The vision is to create a nationally recognized, vibrant, innovative locus of theological education aimed at preparing leaders for congregations and faith communities in the changing culture and emerging field of mission. Saint Paul at Resurrection seeks to provide learning in the practice of ministry for both clergy and laity that is characterized by excellence.

"Saint Paul School of Theology enthusiastically receives this news as an affirmation of our enhanced model of seminary and church collaboration. We have learned through our accrediting agencies that others will be watching this model very closely. The two institutions plan to demonstrate that it is not only possible, but that it will work and bring greater vitality to the church," said Saint Paul President, Dr. Myron F. McCoy.

The seminary will host its 55th Opening Convocation in the Wesley Covenant Chapel on September 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. All are invited to attend.

Mission: Rooted in the Wesleyan tradition and committed to inspiring passion for ministry in diverse Christian bodies, Saint Paul School of Theology educates leaders to make disciples for Jesus Christ, renew the church, and transform the world.
